ICO registered | PATOSS | DBS checkedDyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that affects reading, writing and spelling — but it is not a reflection of intelligence. With the right support and early identification, dyslexic learners can thrive.
Long NHS and school waiting lists mean many children go undiagnosed for years, missing vital support that could transform their confidence and progress.
At Dyslexia Blossoms, we provide timely, professional, and compassionate assessments that give families and schools the answers and the roadmap they need.
Signs to look for in your child:
Whether you are a parent seeking answers, a school needing specialist support, or an organisation wanting to better understand dyslexia — we have a service for you.
Our flagship service. A thorough, evidence-based diagnostic assessment for children and adults, resulting in a formal report with tailored recommendations.
A shorter assessment identifying key indicators of dyslexia — ideal as a first step or when a full diagnostic is not yet required.
JCQ-compliant access arrangement assessments for pupils preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels and other formal examinations.
In-class observations of pupils with suspected or diagnosed SpLD, with detailed written reports and practical recommendations.
Expert consultancy for schools, SENCOs and families navigating the SEND system, EHCP processes and provision planning.
Engaging, practical professional development for school staff on identifying and supporting learners with dyslexia.
Our school SLA packages offer pre-planned, pre-paid specialist support — giving your SENCO reliable access to expert dyslexia services throughout the academic year, without the delay of individual referrals.
All packages include priority booking, a named specialist contact, and guaranteed response times. SLAs run from September to July and renew annually.
We make the process clear, calm and straightforward from first enquiry to final report.
A free 30-minute call to discuss your concerns and whether an assessment is the right next step.
You complete a background questionnaire so we can prepare thoroughly for the session.
A 2–3 hour session using approved, standardised cognitive assessment tools — in person or online.
A full written report delivered within 4 weeks, with a debrief meeting for you and your school.
Founder & Specialist Assessor
Dyslexia Blossoms was founded by Jamie-Lee Lothian, an experienced SENCo and Director of Special Educational Needs with over eight years working in both primary and secondary schools across Northamptonshire.
Having supported hundreds of children and families through the SEND system, Jamie-Lee understands the frustration of long waiting times, the confusion of navigating the system, and the profound difference a timely, well-written assessment can make to a child’s education and self-belief.
Holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties and Inclusion and an APC Certificate, Jamie-Lee is fully qualified to conduct and report on formal dyslexia diagnostic assessments — bringing with her a wealth of practical, empathetic, school-focused knowledge.
The name says it all: we believe every child with dyslexia has the potential to blossom — they just need the right support to help them get there.
"We’d been waiting over a year through school with no progress. Jamie-Lee turned it around in weeks. The report was thorough, clearly written, and finally gave us the answers we needed."
"As a SENCO, having Jamie-Lee on our SLA has been transformative. She understands how schools work and her reports are exactly what we need."
"My son had always struggled but we didn’t know why. Now we do — and so does his school. He has access arrangements for his GCSEs and for the first time feels the playing field is level."
